May 20th to 21st - San Francisco, California
Thanks to Henry we were able to sleep in a king size bed
After exploring San Fran Karla made sure we were well fed

May 22nd - Sonoma County, California
Drivin' through California we smelled a lot of skunks
Stopped by the wine country and got pretty drunk

May 23rd- Humbolt State Park, California
In Humbolt State Park we saw some of the world's tallest trees
Look how much taller they are than me

May 24th - Rogue Brewery Newport, Oregon
With Golubitsky we drank some beer
Soon after, the helicopter circling above struck us with fear
May 25th and 26th- Crater Lake, Oregon
In Crater Lake we were stuck on land
So decided to build Avalanche, our favorite snowman

May 27th to 28th Lassen Volcanic NP and Lake Tahoe, California
In Lassen we saw magma and a volcano
Because of the hole in our kayak we almost sank it in Lake Tahoe
May 29th to 31 - Yosemite NP and June Lake, California
The hospitality of the Shortts was surpassed by none
Camping under the full moon rising over Half Dome was a lot of fun
June 1st to June 2nd- Kings Canyon and Sequoia NP
Deep canyons and big trees were a surprise to me
But nothing beat driving the TACO through a big tree

June 3 - Death Valley NP, California
At Two in the morning we were Death Valley Bound
We slept naked at Furnace Creek Campground

June 4th to 6th - Zion NP, Utah
Wading through the Zion Narrows made a great day
However we really enjoyed hiking the Subway

Day 8 - White Sands, NM
Drivin' around Ruidoso seeing the most we could
Come to find out, bears don't shit in the woods.

Day 9-Hatch, NM and Gila National Forest
We saw some old naked lesbians bathing in Lightfeather hotsprings
Enjoyed our time there, but that really wasn't our thing

Day 10 - Gila Cliff Dwellings and Coronado National Forest
After viewing dwellings from 10,000 years ago
We left for the land of the Saguarro

Day 11 - Phoenix, AZ
Ate some cookies to help prisoners relieve some debt
Enjoyed our time with Dan watching the Phoenix sunset

Day 12 and 13- Sedona and Flagstaff, AZ
Big Red and Cool Blue, this is Bushmaster, over
It appears that Mr. Pibb is really a dozer
Day 15 to 17- Havasupai Falls, AZ
After a grueling 10-mile hike in the desert heat
We found some falls that brought us relief

Day 17 and 18- Joshua Tree National Park
Jumbo Rocks and desert were all you could see
Like Adam and Eve, we replaced the fig leaf with a Joshua tree

Day 19 - Los Angeles National Forest
For the second time eating pork and beans we dine
Only to find the great Coulter Pine

Day 20- Big Sur, California
"I know they sound the same, my dear
but the Elephant Seals don't have Dar's ears."
Drivin' around Ruidoso seeing the most we could

Day 1
We hiked to the top of Enchanted Rock
All the while we are missing Shiner Bock

Started our diet of canned food
Jack Johnson showed us pictographs from long ago, not the singer some other state park dude
Day 2
The majestic Big Bend Park had nothing on Deborah's farts
Here we lie next to Casa Grande, under crystal clear sky's without a tarp

Day 3
We camped in Colima three
Next to a tree we called Hippie

Day 4
After 15 miles on the South Rim in Big Bend
Charlie's desk job got the better of him

Day 5
In the middle of the Chihuahuan desert, Big Bend Jim turned us on to an oasis
Swimming with catfish and minnows at Balmorhea Springs we shared a kiss
Day 6
Drivin' naked on TEXAS 54
Guadalupe Mountains knocked us to the floor

Day 7
After hiking to the top of Texas at Guadalupe Peak at 8749
We said goodbye to Texas for the final time.

At New Mexico's Carlsbad Cavern
The rain made us wish we were at a tavern

Day 8
Overwhelmed by lightning and rain
I think the Roswell people are insane
Day 9 to forty-four
stay tuned for more !!!!

Scavenger Hunt help
Charlie and I have come up with a little scavenger hunt for the honeymoon, but we need some help on the list. It will be a friendly competition to keep us on our toes for the next six weeks. Please feel free to contribute your ideas. Here is what we have so far....
1. Find a place, person or thing with the name MACK
2. Get an autograph and picture from someone with a mullet (bonus if it's a female)
3. Be the first to identify state trees (ex: Texas/Pecan)
4. Be the first to do a Chinese fire drill in each of the states we visit
5. Find a California license plate that begins with the letter Q
6. Meet someone from another country
7. Be the first to find a petroglyph
8. Eat something unidentifiable
9. apply for a job at a 24 hour restaurant and/or rest stop and actually get a call back for an interview
10. Be the first to get in the ocean

Thanks to all
Well, we've got one week left until our adventure begins. We'll be truckin' west for six glorious weeks on the road searching for our own little wonderland. Don't worry, we'll be taking our daily dose of magic pills. We certainly don't need any of those surprises while on this magical adventure. (Thanks Greg for the dollar bills to cover that expense) :)
Thanks to all of our friends and family for helping make this possible. Stay in touch. We had a blast.
love ya,
C and D
